Both my wife and I felt that the Midnight Sun tour of Haida G’waii (HG) was a marvellous experience. Our satisfaction is based on the unique offerings of HG and its people, but especially on the qualities of our guide, David Hopper. David has everything that one hopes for in a guide – expertise, organization, clarity and helpfulness. In addition, he is friendly, a social facilitator, flexible (both with his guests and with the uncertainties of HG life), wise in his choice of activities and attractions, and skilled in his relationships with the people on whose lives we are intruding.
We enjoyed our week in Haida Gwaii very much. The trip was a bucket list item for our 95+ active father and the tour was set up with thoughtful consideration for seeing as much as possible while respecting his capabilities. We all loved the trip and came away with a greater respect for the culture, environment, and history of the Islands. Travel was comfortable, accommodation across the various sites was clean, comfortable and suitable to our needs. We would definitely recommend Midnight Sun and will be sure to visit Haida Gwaii again.
Before the tour we were ambivalent about the somewhat high cost, but after the tour, understanding the economics of HG life and realizing how much Midnight Sun had provided, we felt that we got excellent value.
